Mani Mania // Olympic Inspired

Well as you all may know the Olympics are just days away and especially in London the moral and spirit is high. I too will be a viewer of the 2012 Olympics and support the American teams. Even though I feel like the trails were just yesterday. Further more to help boost your spirit as our Olympic members are in London this upcoming weekend I have below a nail design inspired by the Olympics that I also did on my nails. Anyone can do this design by applying the color of our flag and simple desgin on the thumb and pinky finger and adding the medals. Fun right!!

To make it even easier Butter London has come out with a commemorative set of lacquer inspired by the Olympic medals.  Also Sephora by O.P.I. has created a nail polish inspired by the Olympic Games.

So I would love to see what Olympic Inspired nail designs that you have tried for the games from all over the world.  Or just share the love and comment, like or subscribe for more to come!!

Beauty Tips & Tricks // Coconut Oil

You can get it at any good health food store or in the cooking oil section of your grocery store.  It's white on the inside but tan on the outside. Yet it also tastes delicious in it's many forms, and isn't a budget buster.

Yes I'm talking about Coconut Oil.....

Coconut oil is considered a saturated fat, though since it is natural it's good for your health.  Unlike most saturated fats which are manipulated into the saturated form through a process called hydrogenation.

Coconut Oil is rich, it’s cheap, it’s versatile, it’s antimicrobial, antifungal, and antibacterial, and has a decent amount of antioxidants.  So with that said there are many beauty uses that are great, but I'm sharing my top 4:

1) To shave my legs.  You get a real close shave and moisturized and smooth legs after.

2) To take off my eye makeup. Put a little on a cotton square and sweep it over your eyes gently. It even works on waterproof mascara!

3)As a deep-conditioning hair treatment. I use Vatika coconut hair oil. I apply it to may hair before I wash it and let it set for about 2 hours. Then wash as usual.  It leaves my hair feeling soft, silky, longer after time and helps with dry scalp.

4)As a body moisturizer. Great to apply all over for dry, cracked skin to leave the skin very soft!  But careful if oily skin it's what your are going for.

Hope you learned alot, though also let me know what coconut oil tricks you've tried!!
